조선 후기 궁중회화와 동아시아 관점에서 본 한국회화와 물질문화에 관해 연구를 하고 있다. 최근 논문으로는 「조선에 전래된 구영의 작품과 구영 화풍의 의의」(2020), “MemorialSceneryandtheArt of Commemoration: Chinese Landscapes and Gardens in Korean painting of the Late Joseon Period”(2020) 등이 있으며 공저로는 『명화의 탄생 대가의 발견』(2021), A Companion to Korean Art(2020) 등이 있다.
