성균관대학교 신문방송학과 부교수다. 미디어 경제학과 경영학 분야를 연구·교육하고 있다. 미국 플로리다대학교에서 매스 커뮤니케이션 박사학위를 받았다. The potential effect of VOD on the sequential process of theatrical movies(2015), Success factors of cable network brand extension(2010), Devising a practical model predicting theatrical movie success(2006) 등의 관련 논문을 International Journal of Art Management, Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media, Journal of Media Economics 등의 저널에 게재했다.
