An integrated Korean coursebooks reflecting the latest in Korean culture!

“Hi! Korean” is a series of integrated Korean coursebooks created for foreign learners who have started studying Korean because they like Korean culture. The contents of these textbooks include the latest trends in Korean culture, and various activities are presented so that learners can master the 4 areas of language; speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

The composition of the series is consistent from the beginner level to advanced, with speaking, listening, reading, and writing presented organically, and listening and reading presented separately by unit, organized to increase concentration of learning in each area. In particular, in the “Step Up!” section, which moves away from activities centered on simply answering questions, learners can develop their communication skills by expanding on what they learned through speaking and writing activities.

The “Hi! Korean” series is comprised of 10 Student’s Books (4 beginner, 4 intermediate, and 2 advanced) and an additional “Grammar and Vocabulary Study Book,” as well as 10 Workbooks (4 beginner, 4 intermediate, and 2 advanced), which are sold separately.

“Hi! Korean 3B” presents various grammar and expressions at the intermediate level so that intermediate-level learners can introduce their academic and career plans, issues that arise in their daily life, and their lifestyle habits, as well as understand Korean etiquette, superstitions, etc., and how information is acquired and understood through the media, all in Korean. With example sentences and dialogues that reflect the latest Korean culture, foreign learners can study more authentic and practical Korean. Additionally, expanded practice exercises are provided to review vocabulary and expressions studied in the Student’s Book, with extended exercises also included in the areas of speaking, listening, and reading. Writing exercises are also provided at the end of each unit, so that you can practice for the writing section of the TOPIK exam by writing passages on given topics.

Hi! Korean 시리즈는 한국 문화가 좋아서 한국어 공부를 시작한 외국인 학습자를 대상으로 만들어진 통합 한국어 코스북이다. 최신 트렌드의 한국 문화를 교재 내용에 담았고, 말하기, 듣기, 읽기, 쓰기의 4가지 영역을 마스터할 수 있도록 다양한 활동을 제시하였다.

초급부터 고급까지 일관성 있는 구성을 유지하면서 말하기, 듣기, 읽기, 쓰기 영역을 유기적으로 제시하고 있으며, 과별로 듣기와 읽기를 분리 제시하여 영역별로 학습 집중도를 높일 수 있도록 구성하였다. 특히, 문제 풀이 중심의 활동에서 벗어나 한 단계 오르기 과에서는 말하기와 쓰기 활동을 통해 학습한 내용을 확장함으로써 의사소통 역량을 키울 수 있도록 하였다.

그중 Hi! Korean 3B는 중급 학습자들이 학업 및 진로 계획, 일상생활에서 발생하는 문제 상황, 자신의 생활 습관에 대해 소개하고, 미디어를 통한 정보의 습득 및 이해, 한국의 예절, 미신 등에 대해 한국어로 이해할 수 있도록 중급 수준의 문법과 표현을 다양하게 제시하고 있다. 최신 한국 문화가 반영된 예문과 대화문으로 외국인 학습자들이 더 실제적이고 실용적인 한국어 학습이 가능하도록 하였다. 또한 SB에서 학습한 어휘와 표현 학습에 대한 확장 연습문제가 제공되어 있으며 말하기, 듣기, 읽기 영역의 확장 연습까지 수록되어 있다. 또한 단원 마지막에는 실제 토픽 시험의 쓰기 영역을 연습할 수 있도록 주어진 주제에 맞는 글을 원고지에 직접 써 볼 수 있는 쓰기 영역 연습까지 제공하고 있다.
