같은 내용이라도 그것을 담는 언어에 따라 표현 방식과 전하는 감동이 다르다.
《3개 국어로 읽는 어린왕자》는 고전 명작을 읽으며 교양을 쌓고 감동을 느끼는 동시에 각기 다른 언어의 분위기와 맛도 누리면서 외국어를 재미있게 학습할 수 있도록 꾸몄다.
프랑스어 원문과 영역 본, 한국어 번역본을 비교해 가면서 읽을 수 있도록 프랑스어 원문과 영역 본을 나란히 배치했고, 해석하기 어려울 때 도움을 받을 수 있도록 한국어 번역본을 뒷부분에 실었다.

책 내용

Voici mon secret. Il est très simple: on ne voit bien qu'avec le coeur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.
“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
“이제 비밀을 알려줄게. 아주 간단해. 그건 오직 마음으로만 바로 볼 수 있다는 거야. 중요한 것은 눈에 보이지 않아.” 162-163쪽

"The stars are beautiful, because of a flower that cannot be seen."
I replied, "Yes, that is so." And, without saying anything more, I looked across the ridges of sand that were stretched out before us in the moonlight.
"The desert is beautiful," the little prince added.
And that was true. I have always loved the desert. One sits down on a desert sand dune, sees nothing, hears nothing. Yet through the silence something throbs, and gleams…
"What makes the desert beautiful," said the little prince, "is that somewhere it hides a well…“
-Les étoiles sont belles, à cause d'une fleur que l'on ne voit pas...
Je répondis "bien sûr" et je regardai, sans parler, les plis du sable sous la lune.
-Le désert est beau, ajouta-t-il...
Et c'était vrai. J'ai toujours aimé le désert. On s'assoit sur une dune de sable. On ne voit rien. On n'entend rien. Et cependant quelque chose rayonne en silence...
-Ce qui embellit le désert, dit le petit prince, c'est qu'il cache un puits quelque part...
“별들은 보이지 않는 꽃 한 송이 때문에 아름다워.”
“그래, 맞는 말이야.” 나는 눈앞에 펼쳐진 모래 위에 달빛이 그려놓은 주름들을 말없이 바라봤다.
“사막은 아름다워.” 어린 왕자가 덧붙였다.
그건 사실이었다. 나는 언제나 사막을 사랑했다. 사막의 모래언덕에 앉아 있으면 보이는 것도 들리는 것도 없다. 그러나 침묵 가운데서 뭔가가 고동치고 빛을 발한다.
“사막이 아름다운 건 어딘가에 우물을 감추고 있기 때문이야.” 어린 왕자가 말했다.

And you, on your part, have no need of me. To you, I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world…“
-Je cherche des amis. Qu'est-ce que signifie "apprivoiser"? -C'est une chose trop oubliée, dit le renard. Ça signifie "Créer des liens..." -Créer des liens? -Bien sûr, dit le renard. Tu n'es encore pour moi qu'un petit garçon tout semblable à cent mille petits garçons. Et je n'ai pas besoin de toi. Et tu n'a pas besoin de moi non plus. Je ne suis pour toi qu'un renard semblable à cent mille renards. Mais, si tu m'apprivoises, nous aurons besoin l'un de l'autre. Tu seras pour moi unique au monde. Je serai pour toi unique au monde...
“나는 친구를 찾고 있어. ‘길들이다’는 게 무슨 뜻이야?”
“너무나 자주 소홀히 여겨지는 건데, 관계를 맺는다는 뜻이야.”
“‘관계를 맺는다’고?”
“그래. 내게 너는 아직은 수많은 사내아이들 중 하나에 불과해. 네가 필요하지 않지. 그리고 너에게도 나는 필요하지 않아. 네게 나는 수많은 여우들 중 하나에 불과해. 그렇지만 네가 날 길들이면 우리는 서로에게 필요하게 돼. 나에게 너는 세상에서 단 하나뿐인 존재가 되고, 너에게 나는 세상에서 단 하나뿐인 존재가 되지.”
