She received an M.A. and Ph.D. in the history of Koreanscience from the Interdisciplinary Program in History andPhilosophy of Science at Seoul National University. She hasserved as a member of the Cultural Heritage Committee, anadvisory board member of the National Palace Museum ofKorea, an advisor to the Ansan Industrial History Museum, andpresident of the Korean Society for the History of Science.She is currently a researcher at the Korean Institute of Science,Technology and Civilization at Jeonbuk National University,where she works to promote a broader understanding of thehistory and value of Korean science.Her single-authored works include The Formation of ModeScience in Korea (2016), The Korean Empire Connected byTelegraph: A History of Success and Failure (2018), andTranslated Mode Scientific and Technical Texts and Sciencein the Korean Empire: The Jouey toward Mode Science(2019).Her co-authored works include An Easy History of Seoul (2020),The Age of Hygiene (2024), Hygiene in Colonial Seoul throughNewspapers: Water Supply and Sanitation Policy (2024), andHygiene in Colonial Seoul through Newspapers: Sewage andNight Soil (2024), among others.
