1781년에 출간된 칸트의 철학서.
<실천이성비판> <판단력비판>과 더불어 칸트의 3대 비판서로 불리며, 근대적 인식론(認識論)을 확립한 책이다. 칸트는 뉴턴의 수학적 자연과학에 의한 인식 구조에의 철저한 반성을 통하여 종래의 신(神)중심적인 색채가 남아 있는 형이상학(形而上學)의 모든 개념이 모두 인간(人間) 중심적인, 즉 넓은 의미에서의 인간학적인 의미로 바뀌어야 되는 이유를 들고 나아가 일반적, 세계관적 귀결을 제시하였다.

임마누엘 칸트 (Immanuel Kant)
1724~1804. 독일의 철학자. 쾨니히스베르크(Königsberg) 출생.
경험주의와 합리주의를 통합하는 입장에서 인식(認識)의 성립 조건과 한계를 확정하고, 형이상학적(形而上學的) 현실을 비판하여 비판 철학(批判哲學)을 확립하였다. 주요 저서에 <순수 이성 비판 Kritik der Reinen Vernunft>(1781) <실천 이성 비판 Kritik der Praktischen Vernunft>(1788) <판단력 비판 Kritik der Urteilskraft>(1790) 등이 있다.
