순수 서정의 향기-자연 동화
이병호 시인은 순수 서정시인이다. 그는 인생관뿐만 아니라, 대 자연관의 경지도 대단한 오감(五感)으로 발현되고 있다. 시학에서 사물이미지의 창출은 시인이 간직한 깊고 넓은 지적 관념의 결정체에서 출발한다.
우리 인체의 오관(五官-眼耳鼻舌身)이 감지하는 이미지는 시인의 체험이 재생되면서 생산적으로 바뀌는 지적인 상상력을 제공해 주는데 시인들은 이를 잘 수용하고 감응(感應)하면서 작품을 탄생시키는 마력을 가지고 있다.

초록빛 물이 톡톡 튀는
뒷마당에 나간다
조그만 쌍잎 어린 분꽃은
어느새 함박꽃 누이 같은
예쁜 꽃을 흐드러지게 만들었다
호박잎 가지잎 부추잎 고춧잎
아내의 바구니에는
어릴 때 뒷마당의 향취가 흘러나오고
뺨에는 분홍빛을 머금은
분꽃이 되어 있다
긴 세월의 골짜기를
건너온 태평양 바람이
분꽃 가지를 흔들 때마다
어린 아내의 분 냄새 같은
향기가 가만가만 풀어놓는

The scent of pure lyric ? Assimilation with Nature
The poet, Mr. Byung-Ho Lee, is a lyric poet in the purest sense. Not only his view on life, but also on nature, are expressed through his five senses. In poetry, an image of an object is created from the fruit of a poet’s deep and wide intellectual conception.
The images that our five senses feel are portrayed through the experiences of the poet and provide us with intellectual imaginations. Poets have magical powers to create art through accepting and sensing these images.
Mr. Lee expresses differently when it comes to his lyricism using his simplistic tone extracted by certain visual and natural phenomena.
I step outside to my backyard
Where the green water sputters
What used to be a tiny flower with two leaves
Has grown to be a splendidly beautiful four o’clock flower
Just like its sister, magnolia
Pumpkin leaves, eggplant leaves, leek leaves, chili leaves
From my wife’s basket
Flow out the savor of the backyard from my youth
Its cheek wearing pink color
Became a four o’clock flower
The wind from the Pacific Ocean
Flown over the valleys of the long years
Shakes up the branches of the four o’clock flowers
Oh, the gently released scent
